P 400 Matrix has an optional innovative technology that operates inside the seat’s cushion. Thanks to the Vacuum system, the seat uses volume adjustment to gently cushion the user, ensuring maximum comfort. The system essentially consists of beads that can move around and “compress”, maintaining the shape made when sitting, even after you leave the seat. The vacuum can copy any shape using a process that creates a “mould” in just a few seconds: - the air chamber is inflated, increasing the density of the seat. - a pump sucks air to create a vacuum, enabling the beads move around inside the cushion and compress wherever pressure is exerted. This gives a sensation of total contact with the surface, so that the user feels completely supported by the cushion when sitting on it.

The Vacuum system enables the user to “shape” the cushion according to their own physique, just by sitting on it, a procedure which can be repeated on the same surface thousands of times.
According to a study on the performance of materials in a vacuum atmosphere, the density and type of material used can provide:
• Shock mitigation capability
• Thermal insulation
• Adjustment of seat stiffness or softness
The system distributes body weight over a large surface, thereby reducing pressure on the nerves and avoiding tingling in the legs and discomfort.
At the DAME Design Award 2017 ceremony, held on Tuesday 14th November at the RAI Amsterdam Exhibition Centre, Besenzoni’s outstanding capacity for innovation was recognised: the P400 Matrix helm seat won the marine industry’s most prestigious prize – the DAME DESIGN AWARD 2017 in the “Interior equipment, furnishings, materials and electrical fittings used in cabins” category
Besenzoni won the DAME Design Award 2017 in the “Interior equipment, furnishings, materials and electrical fittings used in cabins” category, in recognition of its innovative P400 Matrix helm seat.
The DAME 2017 jury examined 122 entries from 22 countries, nominating 66 products for the second round of judging. Only these products were eligible to win the DAME Design Award prize.
When choosing the winners of seven categories, as well as the overall winner, the jury considered a number of factors, including the design, construction quality, overall impact on the marine industry, fitness for purpose, level of innovation, cost effectiveness and environmental impact.DOWNLOAD BROCHURE
